Ranking of Countries

Postby ebrahim » Mon Feb 08, 2010 7:35 pm

Hi,
It seems ranking of countries is independent of ranking of their leaders in case of a draw in number of leaders. Is it a bug?

For example assume Canada and France each have 2 leaders. (2 Canadian, 2 French.) Currently it seems their ordering in top countries list is random, i.e. it could change after each refresh. While the ordering should be based on ranking of leaders of each country. Say for example the double French have rankings 23 and 75 (=> 98), and on the other hand the double Canadian have rankings 2 and 43 (=> 45). Now which country is doing better? Canada should be ranked higher.
The same story is true about schools.

Is there any plan to fix this?
And one suggestion: add a "language ranking" similar to country and school ranking lists.

The language ranking already exists (I assume you're talking about programming languages). Find yourself in a ranking (country, school, or just the normal ranking) and click on the language. You'll get a ranking of that programming language.

What about the hypothetical situation where a country has the #1 ranked player and the #100 ranked player, and no others? Is it better or worse than a country with the #50 and #51 ranks?
