Is there any possibility of changing the version of Python?

The server currently runs Python 2.5. Would it be possible to upgrade it to 2.6? It's been available for a while and there are some new language elements people are used to.

Thanks.

It seems to be the very strange politics of organizators to use such an old versions of programing languages as only possible.

It's just that their servers are on Ubuntu Hardy and it's quite old. Anyway getting Python 2.6 to work on it shouldn't be a big problem.
