beat aigamedev bot for prizes

from http://aigamedev.com/open/tutorials/planetwars-guide

AiGameDev.com is providing some prizes for the winners! You can win 6, 12 or 24 months of membership to AiGameDev.com PREMIUM if you place third, second and first in the contest respectively. We'll also provide any single person team that ranks higher than our official bot three months of AiGameDev.com PLUS — our brand-new part of the site that launched last week. Note that space for PLUS is limited, so if our bot doesn't rank very highly we'll give out the prizes for PLUS incrementally over the months after the contest :-)

Great, the first prize offer for the contest. Who knows how many will follow.
Also "beat aigamedevbot" is a more achievable goal than "first place", except of course if that bot should make first place

More of such "low level" goals should be quite motivating for all that don't aim for the top position.

So thanks to the aigamedev team.

No money involved, just some temporary access to industry-level AI articles and content provided by the http://aigamedev.com website if you're interested in learning more about current games AI. The site forum and IRC are free and can usually get good AI feedback/advice there.

They currently charge $ 97 for the first 3 months and $ 75 for every following quarter, so the first prize works out to $ 322. If you're not in the industry, it's probably not worth as much, but there's still 2 years worth of in-depth articles on the AI behind triple-A games, with new content beig added every month. The plus program gives you access to a subset of the premium content.

Personally I would prefer to get the $322 instead. I can already obtain most of the AI articles. But the fact that there is a prize is very nice.

well, now i think, that prizes will be valuable when there is choise - subscription or money equivalent.

But now it's nothing more than PR

The prize is ok. But his bot is kinda low in rankings. He'll have to give like 600 people this prize.
