Thank You TCP Hosts

Postby tomb » Sun Dec 18, 2011 7:00 pm

I just wanted to say thank you to everyone who ran a TCP server. Without you, I don't think the competition would have been as fun nor the bots as good. You provided an invaluable service to all of us. I enjoyed (and sometimes hated) seeing my bot (antsinyourpants) get trounced on fluxid and tcpants. So I want to thank the hosts of those cites specifically.

Otherwise, this was lots of fun, and I look forward to the next competition!

I'll second that, I didn't discover the tcp sites until a couple of weeks ago and it was only by testing against better bots that I got to see how to improve my program and speed up the development/test process.
Thanks to all the hosts and to the competitors. Good luck in the finals.

Chiming in from Sweden with thanks as the finals are just about to start! The tcp servers made all the difference with regards to being able to test bot variations!

They were super helpful. I wasn't able to get them working until this week (I was using an old client that was leaving zombie processes and freezing my PC). Thanks to everyone who hosted a TCP site!
