Asynchronous Bots & Erlang entry??

Postby arnaudsj » Thu Feb 11, 2010 5:43 am

Hi,

I started writing my first tronbot in python, but then quickly realized that computations would be limited to stay < 1s, specially for large boards. So I started to think about using asyncore, to allow the bot to compute while the other is playing. Question: Will this disqualify the bot???

Also, I see that nobody has played around in Erlang yet, but if it support was added for it, would erlang lightweight processes be allowed??? Messaging is a big part of the language strenght and since erlang processes are internal to the Erlang VM, if the number of core/scheduler was set to 1/2 it would insure that Erlang entries would not use more than 1 core, and therefore system process during execution.

Thank you in advance for clarifying those details before I spend anymore time :)

Cheers!

I are no longer working on supporting new languages, so Erlang support is unlikely.
