New Maps! But Apocalyptic still not symmetrical

Postby callinwire » Thu Feb 18, 2010 8:27 pm

First off, I want to thank the organizers for all the new maps. I find them to be a big improvement over the old ones. ;)

With the map update, I was surprised to see that the Apocalyptic map is still not symmetrical. Since it's still in the map pack, I'm concerned that it will be reintroduced as a large map in the finals.

In the top-left, there are two horizontal platforms, lengths 3 and 4. But in the bottom-right, both horizontal platforms are length 3.

There's a second problem. There are two vertical platforms of length 4. The left one is 4 squares away from the center of the map, but the right one is only 3 squares away.

If we change the map file it will change in the visualizer retroactive to all games.

What if you just abandoned the old map file and treated a fixed Apocalyptic like a brand new one - with a new name?

Yes, mspang, it will change retroactively.
But this needs to be fixed, we can call it apocalyptic 2 or something.
