How about something based on the old elite where you travel around a universe trading, upgrading, fighting.
Have many more players per map, allow 'realtime' moves.

I would love to see a game where the bots play in a persistent world. We would have to invent some really minimal MMO that's easy to write a bot for.
Do you think it would be more interesting to have the game center around trade, player development, or combat?
