Question for organisers about timeouts and defaults.

Postby george » Fri Nov 26, 2010 10:17 pm

hi, could you tell me how you will deal with timeouts and crashes/illegal moves in the official tournament?

do i just lose the game i am playing, or am i thrown out of the tournament? (i -seem- to recall that for tron, you only accepted bots that passed a 'test round' without crashing or timing out - are you doing this again?).

for myself, i'd prefer it if we just lost that game - would be a shame to be unable to compete just 'cos i timed out in one game
(though if that's how you do it, i'll increase the time safety margins for my bot).

thanks,
george

It will stay the same as it has been for the open tournament period. Specifically it will only count as a loss not a disqualification.
